(To Microsoft)

Thank You.

My Dream is one day I’ll work for Microsoft.

Grew up in a tech family, I had early access to technologies. I remember coding Basic on 386sx before I could speak English. I was 9. I dreamt of working at Microsoft ever since.

Between ’92 to ’99, I spent much of my time on hacking, ridicule Windows in favor of Unix/Linux. But I never forget the dream of working for Microsoft one day. I reported a number of security issues.

Came University days, I got involved with Microsoft Devhood. A web community started by Microsoft to promote C#, where I was awarded MVP for my contributions. I was later part of Microsoft Consulting at University of Toronto, promoting C# and worked on PocketPC application projects.

Dotcom crashed. I went to Asia, worked at Compal Electronics as BIOS engineer, specializing in Power Management (ACPI), security, etc. I worked side-by-side with my college buddy who happens to work at Microsoft Kernel team on ACPI.

Startup #1. I saw an opportunity for one project I worked on at Microsoft Consulting at University of Toronto, a used textbook auction platform. I asked Microsoft if I was allowed to continue this work. They agreed. I ran this startup for a few months.

Embedded is the future. I worked at Bsquare, a specialist in Windows CE/Mobile. I wrote windows CE/Embedded device drivers. We built several custom military/industrial devices. We won awards from Microsoft for as the best BSP provider.

Smartphone! I was contracted to Qualcomm as System Architect to help them architect their system to adopt High Level OS (Smartphone OS). I joined Qualcomm where I could systematically help chip vendors and Device Manufacturers build their smartphones. I was the system lead. THE power management expert. Performance optimization expert. I was the lead for Windows Phone 7. I led Windows Phone 7 Bootcamp at Microsoft.

Transition to business role and as independent developer. I knew there’s a limit as platform engineer. I transitioned to business strategy, specifically for software. I also had plenty of opportunity to explore new technologies. I became independent mobile developer, Android, iOS, Windows Phone. Several instances that I’ll need to build using SharePoint. I eventually took full circle and got back to ASP.NET MVC.

Startup #2 to Present. Microsoft Bizspark graduate. Gone through the transition from ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET 5 (.NETCORE), .NETCORE. Right now, I am fullstack .NETCORE design house. Particularly, been working on Blazor the past year.

My current goal is continue to develop and promote ASP.NET CORE and Blazor. I plan to apply for positions at Microsoft in 2021-2022. I am interested in promoting .NET 5, Blazor, Azure. I am also interested in product management for Surface line, pc and mobile.

Wish me luck.
